Trail Highlights
A local secret! Gorgeous panoramic views and the option to stop at the ancient ruins sites. This trail has just enough 4-wheeling spots to require either a high-clearance 4x4 or a skilled driver, but most of it is casual two-track ranch road. Open year-round, though recent wet weather will produce slippery and muddy conditions.
Rating
Moderate 4. Some rocky ledges and deep gullies require careful wheel placement.
Length
11 miles off-pavement (6 miles in 4L). Allow 2 hours.
Vehicles
Recommended for small to mid-size high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles with low range transfer cases (4L). Long and/or full-size vehicles are likely to have trouble maneuvering over rocks and between shrubs without damage.
